I Have a Video and I Want It to Be My Ringtone — Here's How to Do It on iPhone
WALTR PRO
Want to turn a video into a custom iPhone ringtone? Whether it’s a funny clip, a song moment, or something personal — yes, you can absolutely do it. This guide shows you how to convert a video into an iOS ringtone using WALTR PRO.
Updated 1 week ago
— A video file (MP4, MOV, etc.)
— A Mac or Windows PC
— WALTR PRO
👉 Download WALTR PRO
— Your iPhone + cable or Wi-Fi
To make a ringtone, you’ll need the audio from the video.
If your file is an MP4 or MOV, WALTR PRO can help extract the sound:
Open WALTR PRO
Drag & drop the video file into the app
Right-click on the file name and choose Extract Audio (or use an online tool if needed)
You’ll now have a clean .m4a or .mp3 audio version of your video.
iPhone ringtones must be in .m4r format.
Here’s how to do that:
Find your extracted audio file
Rename the extension from .m4a to .m4r
Confirm the change when prompted
🎵 You now have a ringtone-ready file!
Connect your iPhone to your computer
Open WALTR PRO
Drag the .m4r file into the app
✅ The ringtone will be transferred directly to your iPhone’s Settings > Sounds > Ringtone section.
On your iPhone:
Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Ringtone
Find your custom ringtone (usually at the top)
Tap to set it as your new ring 🎉
— Keep your ringtone under 30 seconds
— Trim the video beforehand if needed (using QuickTime, iMovie, etc.)
— Use WALTR PRO’s automatic conversion for best compatibility
